The 10 best saunas in Taipei (2026)

Taipei's saunas mostly live inside its hot springs: the gender-separated nude baths of Beitou pair sulphur pools with a dry sauna, a steam room and a cold pool, while the city centre offers municipal pools with sauna areas and an old-style women-only sauna. Check nudity rules, time limits and age limits before setting out.

How to use this shortlist

This is a researched shortlist, not a record of visits or an independently measured ranking. Entries include dry sauna cabins, steam rooms, hot-spring nude baths and municipal pools; their tags describe the format. Venue order is an editorial selection, not a score based on measured heat. Where we have checked a current operator source, the facts, source and consultation date appear below the listing. Other descriptions come from the local guide and still need a fresh venue check. Confirm opening, access and prices before travelling. Nobody paid for inclusion.

Saunas in Taipei: visitor questions

How much does a sauna visit cost in Taipei?

Prices range widely. Municipal pools include their sauna area in a pool ticket of roughly NT$100–150. Beitou hotel nude baths mostly sell three- or four-hour admissions: NT$1,200–1,980 per person on weekdays and a few hundred more on weekends, for example NT$1,600 at The Gaia Hotel and Grand View Resort, or NT$1,200 plus 10% at Radium Kagaya. Hotel Royal Beitou sells 120-minute slots at NT$800 on peak-season weekdays. Women-only saunas usually charge per 12-hour entry. Use the operator's page for today's price.

Do you wear swimwear in Taipei saunas?

It depends on the venue. Beitou's public baths are gender-separated nude baths: no swimwear, shower first, tie up long hair, and phones are usually banned. Municipal pools and mixed hot-spring spa pools are the opposite and require swimwear and a swim cap. Check whether a venue is a nude bath (裸湯) or a swimwear pool before you go.

How do I do a sauna session in Taipei?

Stay 8 to 15 minutes in the dry sauna or steam room, rinse off, spend 30 seconds to 2 minutes in the cold pool, then rest for 5 to 10 minutes, and repeat two or three rounds. Drink water between rounds, do not go straight from a hot sulphur pool into the sauna, and leave if you feel dizzy. Most Beitou baths also set a total time limit, so plan your rounds within it.

Which saunas in Taipei offer a cold bath?

The local guide lists these options: The Gaia Hotel, Grand View Resort Beitou (cold and ice pools), Sweetme Hotspring Resort (ice pool on the men's side), Asia Pacific Hotel Beitou (alternating hot and cold pools) and Rongxing Garden Swimming Pool in Zhongshan. None publishes a water temperature; a temperature-controlled plunge is different from an unmeasured cold pool, so bring your own thermometer if the number matters to you.
